Numerous and varied distribution channels
In this particular pandemic context, Guadeloupe la 1ère wanted to offer its content to as many people as possible, by multiplying the distribution channels:
First of all, a page on the Guadeloupe la 1ère website was exclusively dedicated to the Tour de Guadeloupe 2021. It included the standings, articles, the route, access to the different contents as well as a minute-by-minute live feed.
Guadeloupe 1ère then used social networks to relay and disseminate the content:
- Live broadcast of each stage on Facebook;
- The creation of the hashtag #Tour1ere to share information on Twitter;
- The 0690 399 999 number on Whatsapp to allow the public to share photos and videos and ask questions to radio and television reporters.
- Sharing of behind-the-scenes photos and videos in stories on Instagram
Finally, for the third year, France Télévision Guadeloupe la 1ère called on Omnilive to offer a unique experience to its viewers. Thanks to the multi-camera recording, you could follow the race leaders, the peloton and the breakaways simultaneously. Moreover, the Internet users could exchange thanks to the chat and thus comment the stages with the whole community.

How can spectators follow the riders they prefer?
By offering a 4 angle multicam livestream, Omnilive allows users to watch all the riders simultaneously. This multicam livestream is also the best way for users to follow their favourite and the race as if they were there. Thus the user experience of the Tour de Guadeloupe 2021 was unique and personalized.
In total, Omnilive broadcast, in multicam Livestream, more than 26 hours of races on 4 angles of view, i.e. 104 hours of Live.
Finally, more than 6000 users from 38 countries and 553 cities (Noumea, Kourou, Saint-Paul-de-la-Réunion…) followed the Tour de Guadeloupe 2021 in Omnilive multicam Livestream. Contract fulfilled: increased visibility and satisfaction of new fans
Bonus : How to ignite your audience live? The excellent experience of the Tour de Guadeloupe 2021
During the 5th stage of the Tour de Guadeloupe 2021, Jérôme Boecasse and André Alexis, commentators of the event, encouraged their audience to scan a QR Code appearing on the screen to enjoy a new experience: the multicam Livestream.
As a result, the acquisition meter for this new channel soared: a 10.5-fold increase in audience in the ten minutes following the call to action. We all know that there is a high natural churn, but despite this, the Tour stage ended with twice the audience of the previous day.
The next day, for the next stage, there was a 17% increase in the number of visitors and a 6.6% increase in average viewing time.
This example shows us the importance of Call to action 😉
